Olivér Kocsis is a Hungarian pianist, keyboarder and composer.
He studied jazz and popular music in Budapest and Vienna after which he moved to Barcelona meeting and playing with a great amount of musicians from all over the world.
His first project was Bachstage Trio where he made arrangements of classical pieces played by double bass, classical guitar and piano involving ideas from pop, jazz, funk, reggae and all kinds of music maintaining the sense of classical composition. After a few years in Vienna, moving back to Budapest he became a member of many music groups in Hungary, such as Vibe, Torres Dani, Revo project, Mondd Blanzs and many jam sessions.
After three years in Hungary he decided to move to Barcelona, where he met Giuseppe Campisi and Roger Gutiérrez, with whom he made his first EP, "Above the Stars" and a single, "Call Me Maybe". Inspired by musicians such as Avishai Cohen, Brad Mehldau or Esbjörn Svensson, his music features strong grooves, playing with rhythmical ideas and oriental melodies in a laid-back manner.
